Mango dal (mamidi kaya pappu)

Mango ( big)

Toor dal

Green chilly

Mustard seeds

Cumin seeds
1 tea spoon
Fenugreek seeds

Red chili powder
1 table spoon

Preparation method

  1. Wash the mango cut into small pieces keep it aside.
  2. Cook the toor dal, add 2 cups of water and boil it for 2 to 3 whistles.Let it cool down the pressure
  3. Cook the mango, put into microwave for 5 minutes.
  4. Take a bowl, add toor dal, mango, salt, green chilies, drum sticks, turmeric mix it well, and cook it for 5 minutes.
  5. Heat the pan add oil, when the oil is heated add mustard seeds - until fry, then add cumin seeds,  fenugreek seeds, garlic cloves, red chili powder, hinge, fry it for 2 minutes and  put it into the dal and cook it for 5 more minutes, then garnish with curry leaves.
  6. You can serve with hot plain rice with ghee, and papads.
